Materials Needed:
- Steamer (a handheld clothes steamer works well)
- Wig stand or mannequin head
- Wide-tooth comb
- Wig brush
- T-pins (optional, for securing the wig to the stand)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Wig
- Place the Wig: Secure the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head. Use T-pins if necessary to hold the wig firmly in place.
- Comb the Wig: Gently comb through the wig using a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles.

2. Determine the New Parting
- Decide on the Parting: Determine where you want the new parting to be. Use the comb to create the part in the desired location. It’s important to be gentle to avoid damaging the wig fibres.

3. Steaming the Parting
- Heat the Steamer: Fill the steamer with water and heat it up according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Position the Steamer: Hold the steamer about 6-8 inches away from the wig. Ensure the steam is not too hot or too close to avoid damaging the wig fibres.

4. Steaming Process
- Steam the Parting: Direct the steam at the new parting line. Move the steamer slowly along the parting, ensuring the steam penetrates the fibres and the monofilament base.
- Use Your Fingers: As you steam, gently use your fingers or a comb to help set the fibres in the new direction. Be cautious not to burn yourself with the steam.
- Repeat as Needed: Continue steaming and adjusting until the fibres lay naturally in the new parting direction.

5. Set the Parting
- Allow to Cool: Let the wig cool down completely while it remains on the stand. This helps set the new parting firmly in place.
- Brush the Wig: Once cooled, gently brush the wig with a wig brush to smooth out any fibres and perfect the parting.

6. Final Touches
- Check the Parting: Ensure the new parting looks natural and that the fibres lay correctly.
- Style as Desired: Style the wig as desired. You can use wig-safe styling products to help maintain the new parting.
