Welcome to Valentine Wigs!

We recommend that you pay particular attention to the section ‘Liability’ below, which sets out important limits and exclusions of our liability to you, and the sections ‘Cancelling an Order’ and ‘Faulty Goods’, which set out important information about your rights.

We also draw your attention to the terms and conditions of our return policy set out below at the section ‘Returning Goods’.  Returns are a considerable expense in both shipping and administration. Prices have been calculated for us to guarantee the lowest prices for all our customers. Therefore, unless you are absolutely sure what to order, we strongly advise you visit a wig shop to determine which wig is best for you before buying online. If you are unsure of the colour we run a colour ring loan programme. Our returns policy is not meant as a preview service. We reserve the right not to supply to customers who repeatedly return orders.


THESE TERMS

These are the terms and conditions (the Conditions) on which we supply our wigs, hairpieces and accessories (the Products) to you when you place an order with us via our website.

Please read these Conditions carefully at the time you place an order with us, as they set out important information about your rights and obligations. Please note that you must agree to these Conditions before we can accept your order. If you do not agree to these Conditions, please do not proceed to place an order with us.

You must be at least 18 years old to place an order with us.

We may make changes to these Conditions at any time. However, the Conditions which will apply to your order will be those Conditions set out on our website at the time you submitted your order to us. Please print out or save a copy of these Conditions and any emails from us for your records, as we will not save a copy for you.

The following are other terms that may apply to you and can be found on our Website:

·         our Privacy Policy, which sets out details of how we collect, use and look after your personal data when you place an Order with us or visit and use our Website;

·         our Website Terms of Use which govern how you may use our Website; and

·         our Cookies Policy, which sets out information about the cookies on our Website.

We are a private limited company registered in Scotland under company number SC423195 and have our registered office at 14-16 St John Street, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire ML5 3EJ. PLACING AN ORDER

You may place an Order with us via our website or by contacting us via telephone. An Order constitutes an offer by you to purchase those Products set out in the order in accordance with these Conditions. Please check the order carefully and correct any errors before you submit it to us. You are responsible for checking that your order is complete and accurate and that you have provided us with all the information which we require to deliver the Products to you.

Where you place an order via the Website, you must accept these Conditions at the time you place the order with us. This does not mean that the order has been accepted by us – your order will only be accepted when we send you an Order Confirmation.

Where you place an order by phone, you will be directed to review these Conditions. You must accept these Terms in order for us to accept and process the order, and any order you place with us will be subject to these Conditions. You will receive by email either a link to a summary of the Order and these Conditions (which you must click to accept) or a copy of these Conditions and instructions for how you can communicate your acceptance of the Conditions.

Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place when we send you an email which confirms we have accepted your Order (Order Confirmation), at which point a legally binding contract will come into existence in respect of the Products set out in the Order Confirmation.  If you do not receive an Order Confirmation (and you have not been notified that we have not accepted your order) please contact us using the contact information set out above.

We may not accept the whole or part of your order as a result of one of the following circumstances:

  • the product you ordered being unavailable from stock; 
  • our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment; 
  • the identification of a pricing or product description error; 
  • where you have repeatedly returned orders to us in the past;
  • where you have breached these Conditions in respect of a previous Order;
  • where our suppliers are unable to supply the Products for any reason;

and where this happens, we will email you as soon as possible using the details you provided when you placed the order and refund any sums you have paid in respect of those Products we are unable to provide. We have the right to reject orders for any reason.


OUR PRODUCTS

You can find everything you need to know about us and our Products on our website.

Any pictures, images, drawings, descriptive matter on our website or in adverts produced by us, including of packaging, are for illustration purposes only, in order to give an approximate idea of the Product referred to in them. We do not hold out that our Products will be suitable for any particular use you may wish to make of them.

We cannot guarantee that the colours displayed on your device will match exactly the appearance of your Products. The colours of the Products displayed on our website may vary depending on what device you are using and your settings. If you are unsure of the colour or wish to check colours before placing an order with us, please refer to our colour ring loan programme.

Our Products are provided to you for your domestic and personal use only. You must not use them for commercial, business or resale purposes.

 
NEW TO WIGS OR HAIRPIECES?

It is almost impossible to buy a wig or hairpiece online if you are new to wigs.  It is better to visit a wig shop and try a few on.  This way you will be able to ascertain:

  1. Your head size
  2. The most suitable style and length
  3. Cap construction (e.g. wefted, monofilament, hand tied, lace front etc.)
  4. Good matching colour(s)

Buying online without any experience can be very frustrating!

We are an online store and not a wig shop. However, we can help by answering your questions over the telephone or by email. You will find us very friendly and willing to offer independent advice.

Please note: For hygiene reasons we respectfully ask that if you are trying a wig on that you may wish to return, you use a wig cap at all times (wig caps can be purchased on our site here Products – Valentine Wigs or you may use one of your own).

PRICING AND PAYMENTS

Prices for our Products are set out on our website. The amount payable by you will be confirmed in our Order Confirmation. All prices are stated:

·         in pounds sterling (£)(GBP);

·         both inclusive and exclusive of VAT at the applicable rate; and

·         exclusive of delivery charges (and any import duties in relation to international deliveries). Such delivery charges will be stated separately either on our website or any invoice we provide to you. For information on delivery options and costs, please see our website.

We accept: Visa, Mastercard, G Pay, Apple Pay, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, Maestro, UnionPay, Paypal. Also PayPal Credit (offer terms for purchases on our website with payments spread over four months.) & Klarna (offers terms for purchases on our website with payments spread over three months.)

Unless we specifically agree otherwise in writing with you, all Products must be paid for in advance.  We may take payment from your chosen payment method before we send you your Order Confirmation, however we will hold any payment we receive from you to your order until we have provided you with an Order Confirmation.

If there has been an error on the website regarding the pricing of any of our Products and this affects your order, we will try to contact you using the contact details you provided when you placed the order.  We will give you the option to re-confirm the order at the correct price or to cancel the order. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as cancelled and notify you by email.


CREDIT CARD SECURITY

  • We use secure third party payment providers for all online transactions to give you maximum security.
  • We do not store any of your card information either electronically or in hard copy.
  • Your bank statement may show your payment to us as SKILLEN TRAINING LIMITED t/a VALENTINE; there is no reference to Valentine Wigs.  This is for your privacy.  We respect your confidentiality.


MAKING A PURCHASE

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the Order.

We accept Paypal, Visa, Mastercard & American Express card payments. If you are shopping from outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency.

We take payment at the time of your order for two reasons.  Firstly, for your security.  We don't hold any of your card details.  If we took payment at the time of dispatch we would have to hold your card details, which we believe is a security risk. Secondly, we 100% guarantee the price you paid at the time of the order with the manufacturer.  

IMPORTANT: Discount Codes cannot be backdated to any order already placed.
 

SUMMARY OF THE ORDER PROCESS:

  • We source all orders directly from the manufacturers' warehouses. This way we don't hold expensive stock and are able to pass the savings directly to you.
  • When you place your order with us, we contact the manufacturer at 12 noon the next working day and place your order.  The exceptions are manufacturers outside the UK.  For European manufacturers like Ellen Wille and Gisela Mayer, orders are placed twice a week.  For American Manufacturers like Jon Renau, orders are placed fortnightly.  
  • Usually within two working days you will be emailed the expected dispatch date of your order.  You can also check for status updates of your order in your online account. 
  • For products that are in stock we receive orders within two working days from UK suppliers.  For manufacturers and suppliers located outside the UK it can take five working days to arrive with us.  There are a small minority of collections that can take about two weeks.  We will always let you know.
  • When we receive your order from the manufacturer we thoroughly check and discreetly package it. 
  • When we dispatch your order there is nothing on the outside of the package to suggest there is a wig or hairpiece inside. 
  • We operate under the company name Skillen Training Limited (trading as Valentine). This is to protect your privacy.
  • Each day all parcels that are ready for dispatch will be collected by Royal Mail or a courier.


    BACK ORDERS 

    All Products within our Order Confirmation are subject to availability, and we cannot guarantee that any Products will be available at any given time. Usually there is stock available however if this is a back order you will be the first to receive the new stock because it has been reserved in advance for you. You will be advised by email of the expected dispatch date.

    If this is not acceptable please let us know whether you would prefer a replacement or a full refund.

    DELIVERY 

    All our parcels are sent discreetly packaged. You can be assured that we carefully protect your privacy when you receive our products.

    There is no mention of wigs on the outside of our parcels.  

    Your Products will be delivered within the delivery period specified on our website, depending on the delivery option you chose when you placed your order. We will deliver your order within 30 days of the Order Confirmation unless otherwise agreed between you and us. We will provide you with updates confirming the progress of your Order and the estimated date of delivery. Please note that, depending on the product ordered, delivery can take up to 3 months from the date of the Order Confirmation.

    Please ensure your delivery details are correct as any undelivered orders will be returned at your cost.

    All delivery dates stated on our Website, during the order process or in our Order Confirmation, are estimates only and we reserve the right to update you of any change or variation to any date for delivery from time to time.  Time for delivery is not of the essence of the contract (unless we have agreed a specific delivery date with you).  We are not liable to you for any losses you incur if delivery is delayed because of any circumstances beyond our reasonable control (for example severe weather, accidents or unpredictable traffic delays).

    Please examine the Products at the earliest opportunity after delivery and notify us of any fault or damage as soon as reasonably possible.

    Once a Product has been delivered to your address, risk in the Product passes to you and the Product will be classed as having been ‘delivered’. This means that you are responsible for the Product, and we are not liable to you if the Product is stolen or damaged after it has been delivered to you. This does not affect your legal rights if the Product is faulty or misdescribed. However, ownership of Products only passes to you when you have paid for them in full.


    DELIVERY WITHIN THE UK

    • The delivery charge is FREE for orders over £100. 
    • For orders under £100 there is a flat rate of £4.95 for as many items you wish to place in your order.
    • All orders are sent via Royal Mail 48 hour tracked.  
    • You will be emailed within two working days of your order with an expected dispatch date.
    • If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you with an option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
    • Although we cannot guarantee timed deliveries we will do our best if this is important to you, for which there may be a small extra charge to cover this service.

     UK Orders: please ensure the delivery address is correct as any undelivered, returned orders will incur an extra postage cost for re-delivery.


    DELIVERY OUTSIDE UK

    • Channel Islands: Royal Mail £10.95
    • Ireland:  Royal Mail £12.95 
    • Rest of EU (Excluding Malta, Cyprus, Montenegro & Sweden): Royal Mail Economy (10 - 60 Business Days) £17.95. Courier (3 - 17 Business Days no insurance) £49.95 for orders below £300 only. Courier (3 - 17 Business Days with insurance) £69.95 for orders £300 and above.
    • Malta, Cyprus & Montenegro: £65.00 for all orders (no insurance). Contact Us for 'with insurance' quote.
    • Sweden: £59.95 for all orders (no insurance). Contact Us for 'with insurance' quote.
    • Australia, Canada, New Zealand & USA: Royal Mail (10 - 60 Business Days) £29.95
    • The product price excludes Tax, Customs and Local Border Handling Charges. Please note that we have no control over these charges and we cannot predict their amount. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes.
    • UK VAT tax is no longer charged for orders outside the UK
    • Orders are sent International tracked, maximum weight 2kg. Timings for delivery will vary.
    • You will be emailed within two working days of your order with the expected dispatch date.
    • If your item is not in stock, we will back order it for you with an option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. 

     

    EU & INTERNATIONAL ORDERS:
    Please ensure your delivery details are correct as any undelivered orders will be returned to the UK at your cost (which we expect will be equal to the charge of delivery to you, and may be substantial as it will include tax, customs duty and courier handling charges).


    RETURNING GOODS

    We offer a general returns period of 14 days from the date of delivery, where you may return your Order (or just one Product in your Order).

    Please use the Returns Request Form when returning your Products to us. This form can be found at the bottom of every page on the website and will also be included with your Products on delivery.

    For orders that originally qualified for free postage, if, following a return, the net balance of the order becomes less than the amount that may be stipulated for free postage, the current postage charge (£4.95) will be deducted from the refund.

    Exchanges are not offered for returned items.

    Discount and loyalty codes are not transferrable from a returned or partially returned order.


    RETURNS FOR UK CUSTOMERS

    RETURNS FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS

    Import Taxes:
    Due to Brexit rules that came into place on the 1st January 2021, there are changes around how we send your products. As a result, there are taxes that may be added to your purchase. Your postal service will advise you of any taxes that will be due. Here is how the cost may be worked out:

    VAT - This will be your own country's VAT rate and is added to the total cost of the product including any courier fees.

    Import Duty - Generally this is estimated at 2% of the purchase price
    Customs Fees - This will change per country however is usually between €12 and €20

    Returns:
    As valued customers we recognise that sometimes, it's just not quite right. Therefore if you are not satisfied in anyway you may return your products using a trackable service. However, any import fees incurred by Valentine Wigs will be deducted from your original payment. We urge all our EU customers to be completely confident with their style and colour before making a purchase.

    RETURN CONDITIONS

    Please note that Products ordered from American manufacturers, such as Jon Renau, Gabor, Raquel Welch (U.S.), Kim Kimble, BelleTress, Estetica, and HIM by Hairuwear, are specially imported for you. Due to this, these items are strictly non-returnable.

    All wigs are thoroughly checked prior to being packaged and dispatched by both the manufacturer and Valentine Wigs.

    Please follow these conditions when returning a Product to us:

    1. Returns must be in the original packaging with tags.  The tags must not be removed when you are trying a wig on.   If tags are cut, removed or retied on, then a refund will not be issued.
    2. Packaging must be in original condition and not taped in any way.
    3. The wig or hairpiece must be neatly placed back in the box – exactly as you received it.
    4. The wig or hairpiece must not smell of tobacco, food, perfume or any other strong smell.
    5. You must send back the wig or hairpiece via an established delivery service within 14 days of notifying us your intention to cancel.  No returns will be accepted where you send the goods back after this 14 day period has expired and there will be no refund after this time.
    6. Loyalty points will not be restored for returned orders.
    7. For hygiene reasons we respectfully ask that if you are trying a wig on that you may wish to return, you use a wig cap at all times (wig caps can be purchased on our site or you may use one of your own).

    We regret we cannot accept returns for eyelashes or eyebrows (or other accessories sealed for hygiene reasons) if they have been unsealed. If you return such products to us, they will be destroyed and you will not be refunded.

    Valentine Wigs reserve the right not to supply to customers who repeatedly return orders.

    We strongly recommend that you get proof of postage. We may withhold the refund until we have received the Products back from you or until you have provided us with evidence that you have sent the Products back (whichever is earlier).
     

    FAULTY GOODS

    Any Products that we provide to you must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

    Our products are sourced from leading wig manufacturers around the world. They are quality checked by the manufacturer and then by us before being dispatched to you.

    During the expected lifespan of any Products that you have purchased from us, if the Products are faulty, you may be entitled to a full refund. This potential entitlement does not affect your separate right to cancel the contract, as described above.

    If you believe your wig or hairpiece is faulty, please complete a returns form immediately. The Returns Request Form can be found at the bottom of every page on the website. Please do not return a faulty product until you have received an authorisation code in advance. Once we have received your returned Product, we will coordinate with the original manufacturer to establish whether the Product was faulty.  Decisions usually take around two weeks from the point at which the original manufacturer receives the returned Product, and we will give you a full refund (and will reimburse you for your costs in returning the Product in accordance with our instructions) if we (or the original manufacturer) determine that your Product is faulty.

    CANCELLING AN ORDER

    RIGHT TO CHANGE YOUR MIND

    You have the right to change your mind and cancel your order. You may change your mind and cancel your order up to 14 days from the delivery date of the Products.

    To cancel your Order, please email us at sales@valentinewigs.co.uk, or call us on: 01772 620040 Mon - Fri 11.00am - 3.00pm. You can also use the cancellation form available on our website. To help us process your cancellation more quickly, please have your Order number ready or include it in the email or on the cancellation form that you send to us.


    RETURNING A CANCELLED ORDER TO US

    If you cancel your Order and you have already received the Products, you must return the Products to us within 14 days of telling us that you want to cancel your Order.  The deadline is met if you send the Products back to us before the 14-day period has expired.

    Please send the Products back to us using an established delivery service. We strongly recommend that you get proof of postage. We may withhold the refund until we have received the Products back from you or until you have provided us with evidence that you have sent the Products back (whichever is earlier).

    The Products must be returned to us in a new and unused condition and, to the extent possible, in their original packaging. You must ensure that the Products meet our Return Conditions set out below, otherwise we may be entitled to make a deduction from any amounts due to you in respect of the loss of value of the Products. You are responsible for the Products while they are in your possession.

    Unless the Products are faulty or misdescribed, you are responsible for the cost of returning these to us. We estimate the cost of return will be the same as the cost of delivery to you.

    Please note that Products ordered from American manufacturers, such as Jon Renau, Gabor, Raquel Welch (U.S.), Kim Kimble, BelleTress, Estetica, and HIM by Hairuwear, are specially imported for you. Due to this, cancellation must occur before your order is dispatched from America.


    REFUNDS WHERE YOU HAVE CANCELLED YOUR ORDER

    If you exercise your right to cancel an order in accordance with the ‘Cancelling an Order’ section, we will provide you with a refund as soon as possible.

    If you cancel an order and have already received the Products, we will issue the refund no later than 14 days after the day we receive the Products back from you or, if earlier, you provide us with evidence that you have sent the Products back. Otherwise, we will issue the refund no later than 14 days after the day on which you told us that you want to cancel.

    Your refund will be subject to the following deductions:

    ·         if you chose a delivery option that is more expensive than the cost of standard delivery, we will only refund the cost of standard delivery; and

    ·         if you handled the Products in a way beyond what might reasonably be permitted in a shop and this resulted in a loss in value of the Products, we may make a deduction from the refund for such loss in value. Such deduction may be up to the full value of the Products where you have damaged, styled, cut or otherwise mishandled the Products or otherwise not complied with the Return Conditions set out below. In such circumstances, we will only refund you the cost of standard delivery.

    We will issue your refund to the same payment method you used to pay for the order.


    YOUR LIABILITY TO YOU

    If we breach these Conditions or are negligent, we are liable to you for foreseeable loss or damage that you suffer as a result. By ‘foreseeable’ we mean that, at the time the contract was made, it was either clear that such loss or damage would occur or you and we both knew that it might reasonably occur, as a result of something we did (or failed to do).

    We are not liable to you for any loss or damage that was not foreseeable, any loss or damage not caused by our breach or negligence, or any business loss or damage.

    Nothing in these Conditions excludes or limits our liability for any death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit.


    PERSONAL INFORMATION

    Any personal information that you provide to us will be dealt with in line with our Privacy Policy available on our Website, which explains what information we collect and hold about you, and how we collect, store, use and share such information.

    OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS

    Events outside our control.  We shall not be deemed to be in breach of the Agreement or otherwise liable to you in any manner whatsoever for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under the Agreement due to any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control, or which by its nature could not have been foreseen, or, if it could have been foreseen, was unavoidable.

    Assignment. You are not allowed to assign, change or otherwise transfer your rights under these terms to anyone without our prior written consent.  We may transfer our rights under these terms to another business without your consent, but we will notify you of the transfer and make sure that your rights are not adversely affected as a result.

    Third Party rights.  The Agreement is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any terms of the Agreement and the Agreement does not give rise to any rights under the Agreements (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any provisions of the Agreement.

    Waiver.   If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these Terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking Terms, this will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date. 

    Severance. If any provision of these terms (or part of any provision) is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable, the legality, validity and enforceability of any other provision of these terms will not be affected.

     
    GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

    English law applies to these Conditions, although if you are resident elsewhere you will retain the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the laws of that country.  Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK or other jurisdiction in which you live.
